THE B.E.A.S.T. WITHIN

THE B.E.A.S.T. WITHIN is the first book in my shifter trilogy. It follows Noah Carpenter and Lanie Erickson as they try to stay one step ahead of the ruthless B.E.A.S.T. agency.

To give you a little insight on what the book is about, here's the blurb:

When Lanie Erickson is thrown from her car in a horrific accident, she never thought she’d be saved by a white tiger! Nor did she think meeting the man who claims to be the tiger’s friend would change her life forever.

Noah Carpenter has a terrible secret. Mutated genetically by the agency known as B.E.A.S.T., Noah is a shifter, able to change his shape at will. But he’s escaped the agency that made him a monster, and now he’s on the run.

As Noah remembers more about who he used to be, his attraction for Lanie grows until it cannot be denied. Even though Lanie knows of his savage side, she welcomes him with open arms. But when B.E.A.S.T. suddenly abducts her, can Noah save the woman he loves from the torture he once had to endure? Even if that means killing anyone who gets in his way?

This book is on a June 1st deadline, and I'm having a blast writing it. I'm about halfway through the book right now, and I have good guys, bad guys, and good guys *pretending* to be bad guys. LOL Sound confusing? Well, it's not.

I'm very happy with the way this debut book is turning out; much different than what I'd originally imagined. I had the entire story outlined and whatnot, but then I had a thought: What if not every shifter who is made by the agency wants to escape? What if some shifters revel in their new-found abilities and stay with B.E.A.S.T., completing the jobs they were genetically engineered for?

That made for a wicked thought. Evil shifters. Oooo.... :D Each book has a shifter for a hero, and each book has a shifter for an antagonist. The villain in THE B.E.A.S.T. WITHIN is a black panther named Tam, very evil, very mentally unstable. Perhaps in later postings, I'll delve a little deeper into Tam's psyche, what makes him tick, and why doesn't he care about finding out who he was in his "life before"?

Thank you for checking out my new blog! Keep checking back, as I'm going to update this blog with cool stuff every now and again. I hope you're as excited to read my new series as I am to write it. :D

Welcome to B.E.A.S.T.

Welcome to the very first post of my new blog, B.E.A.S.T. This blog is dedicated to my romantic suspense trilogy, The B.E.A.S.T. Series, coming in October to Champagne Books. These books are about men who've been genetically altered to become shape-shifters, men who can become certain animals.

These men are not "were" creatures, like a werewolf with ties to the moon, rather, these men can change at will into the animal that has been chosen for them. But the B.E.A.S.T. agency is not benevolent. They are abducting these men off the streets, faking their deaths, mind-wiping them, and experimenting on them in the hopes to make the ultimate super-soldier, brainwashed to do their bidding.

However, these "mind wipes" don't always take successfully; there are some men who can still remember flashes of their "lives before", and it's these men who must escape at all cost the hell they are enduring as captives of B.E.A.S.T.

B.E.A.S.T. stands for: Bio-Engineered to Attain Shift Transformation.

The three books in the series are:

THE B.E.A.S.T. WITHIN
B.E.A.S.T. OF BURDEN
NATURE OF THE B.E.A.S.T.

The first book will be released in October of 2006 from Champagne Books, and of course, the shifter hero can change into a white tiger. I cannot wait, as this book is a blast to write, and I know readers will love it as much as I do. :) Not only are the good guys trying to get away, but there are bad guy shifters as well, who are hunting them at all costs. OOO, very cool! :D

Keep checking back, as I intend to keep you updated on this series, and maybe give you some exclusive excerpts and sneak peeks into my characters and books.
